Long Island Sellers: Don't Start With “What Is My Home Worth?”

If you're thinking about selling your L.I. home or condo, the first question most homeowners ask is:
“What is my home worth?”
It's an important question, but it's not the only one.

A better question is:
“What will make a buyer choose my property over the others they are seeing?”
Buyers are comparing homes. They're looking at price, condition, location and what they are getting for their money.
So, your goal as a seller shouldn't simply be to get your home on the market.
Your goal should be to make buyers want it.
That means understanding how your property compares to the competition, preparing it properly, pricing it strategically and marketing it so buyers see the value.
And remember, what works for one property may not work for another.
Every home. Every community. Every market is different.
If selling is somewhere in your plans, start paying attention to what is happening around you now.
What is selling? What is sitting? And what are buyers choosing?
Those answers can tell you a lot before you ever put your home on the market.
