Dryer Fire Breaks Out At St. James Laundromat

Firefighters were on the scene and battled the fire within a few minutes.

ST. JAMES, NY - A fire broke out at a St. James laundromat on Sunday afternoon.

The St. James Volunteer Fire Department responded to the reported dryer fire at the St. James Laundromat on 473 Lake Avenue at about 1:50 p.m.

Within 3 minutes units were on scene and the fire was extinguished immediately.

The Nesconset Fire Department was also on scene.

No injuries were reported.

The Smithtown Fire Marshals office is currently conducting an investigation.
