Flanagan Elected to State Senate

Republican is headed to Albany.

Republican John Flanagan has been re-elected to the State Senate.

Flanagan defeated Democrat Peter Magistrale in race for the 2nd District seat, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk Board of Elections.

He also beat out Libertarian candidate Stephen Ruth, a.k.a. the "Red Light Robin Hood."

With almost all districts reporting, Flanagan leads by a margin of 85,120-43,460. Ruth received 5,295 votes.
