"The Emerald Jewel" - A Spring Gala honoring ballet icon Violette Verdi...A Ballet Lover's Delight!

Frank Ohman, Artistic Director and Founder of the New York Dance Theatre, is pleased to announce that the Special Honoree at this year’s Spring Gala will be Violette Verdy, former Principal Dancer with the New York City Ballet and a former colleague of Mr. Ohman from his days as a soloist with the New York City Ballet. The Gala will take place at the Brookville Country Club in Old Brookville, NY on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 6:30 pm. Ms. Verdy is an internationally acclaimed ballerina who has been the artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet, the Boston Ballet, and who currently holds the position of distinguished professor of ballet and the Kathy Ziliak Anderson Chair in ballet at Indiana University. She has guested as a performer and a director with many of the world’s leading ballet companies and is the recipient of numerous honorary doctorates and awards including the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres, conferred by the President of France. A more intimate VIP champagne reception is set for 5:30 pm for those who wish to greet Ms. Verdy before the main event.
