ICYMI: Man Killed After Being Struck By Commercial Truck

NESCONSET, NY - A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a commercial truck at the parking lot of a Nesconset business Tuesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

Daniel Curcio was driving a commercial truck in reverse in the parking lot of Handy Pantry Shopping Center on 279 Smithtown Boulevard when the vehicle struck a man walking through the parking lot at 9:30 a.m., police said.

The pedestrian, 68-year-old Albert Geerders, of Ronkonkoma, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
