
So, I went to Trader Joe’s a few weeks ago to pick up a few ingredients I use (Almond Meal and Grapeseed Oil) and became more and more irritated as I picked up random items and read their nutritional labels.
Some form of sugar was in just about everything… okay it was ORGANIC sugar because Trader Joe’s is a “health food store”. REALLY?
It hit me hard because I know most people think of Trader Joe’s as a healthy store to shop at… but eating organic food is just one ingredient of a healthy lifestyle recipe. Sugar free and low glycemic eating is essential for longevity, health and vitality!

Then it dawned on me that over the years many of my clients have asked me if organic sugar is healthier than “regular” sugar. And this is what I told them (in a loud and scary voice)…
NO - IT’S NOT!
For the record, organic sugar is just as unhealthy as regular sugar... period.

An article in the October 2009 edition of “Discover Magazine” said that Americans eat an average of 61 pounds of refined, white sugar each year!
