BREAKING: The teen stabbed a 19-year-old following an argument, police say.
SMITHTOWN, NY — A teenager has been arrested in the stabbing of a 19-year-old man Wednesday night in Smithtown near Nesconset. A 17-year-old stabbed the man in the chest around 8:15 p.m. following an argument in the parking lot of the CVS on Terry Road, Suffolk County police said.
The victim walked into the drug store, and a worker dialed 911. He was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital with multiple stab wounds by the Smithtown Fire Department, who arrived at the CVS minutes later. The man is expected to survive, Rick Torre, a spokesman for the fire department, told Patch.
Police arrested the 17-year-old a short distance from the drug store around 10:25 p.m. The teen faces an assault charge and was to appear in court Thursday in Central Islip. Police withheld the teen's name because he is a youth.
