Man Steals Pocketbook From Smithtown Stop & Shop Customer

He is wanted for grand larceny, police say. Have you seen him?

SMITHTOWN, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who police say stole someone's pocketbook from a Smithtown grocery store in December.

A man stole a customer's pocketbook at the Stop & Shop at 291 W. Main St. on Dec. 30, police said. He drove off in a white four-door sedan and is wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, texting "SCPD" and your message to "CRIMES" (274637) or by email at www.tipsubmit.com. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
