Mills Pond Student Wins PSEG-Sponsored Contest, Recognized By Smithtown Board Of Education
The elementary school student created a commercial convincing others to conserve resources.

ST. JAMES, NY — Gia Mayer, a fifth grade student at Mills Pond Elementary School, was named a winner of a PSEG-sponsored contest and was recognized by the Smithtown Central School District Board of Education on Tuesday, the district announced.
She was a winner of the "I Am EM-powered" Public Service Announcement contest sponsored by
the energy group.
Gia, a student in Diana Lanze's class, created a commercial convincing others to conserve resources. She received an Amazon gift card and money towards a class party which she and
her class have already enjoyed.

Gia was joined by her parents, Danielle and Ernest, Mills Pond Elementary School Principal Irene Westrack, and PSEG representatives Amy Di Leo and Peter Hornick.
