Nesconset Man Charged With DWI At Sobriety Checkpoint: SCPD
Out of 815 cars, two people were charged with DWI and one man was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, police say.
HAUPPAUGE, NY - Three people were arrested during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Hauppauge Friday night and Saturday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol Bureau, assisted by New York State Troopers, conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 347 at Mt. Pleasant Road from 11:25 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
The checkpoint was part of ongoing Memorial Day weekend enforcement operations for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and drugs.

A total of 815 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
According to police, the following people were charged with DWI:

- Catherine Smith, 34, of Ronkonkoma
- David Corado, 36, of Nesconset
In addition, 23-year-old Justin Balzarano, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.
All of the above people will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
