Man Wanted for Breaking into Hauppauge Homes Using Garage Door Openers

Police are looking to identify the man who used garage door openers to gain entry into two Hauppauge homes last month.
According to authorities, the man entered unlocked vehicles parked in the driveways of homes on Dale Court and Janet Court on April 22 and April 28, respectively. The man then used remote garage door openers found inside the vehicles to gain entry into the garages, police say. The burglar would then enter the homes through a second door.
Police said cash, keys and a credit card were stolen from the Janet Court home and police are investigating if anything was stolen from the Dale Court home.

Police believe this man may also be responsible for stealing items from unlocked vehicles in the area.
Police described the burglar as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with facial hair.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
