2 Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Pole In St. James

The crash was reported early Thursday.

ST. JAMES, NY - Two people were hospitalized after a car crashed into a utility pole in St. James early Thursday.

Members of the St. James Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash on Moriches Road between Fairfield Drive and Route 347 at about 2:44 a.m.

Two people were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road remains closed as PSEG is on scene repairing the damaged pole.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes as Moriches Road is closed from Woodlawn Avenue to Route 347.

Access is granted to Fairfield, Hamlet, and the Elementary School.
