Smithtown Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Chloe & Uno
Chloe the cat and Uno the dog were named the Smithtown Animal Shelter's featured pets of the week.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Meet Chloe and Uno: the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pets of the Week.
Chloe, a 4-year-old female domestic shorthair mix, is a special girl with special needs. She suffers from a seizure disorder which is easily managed by two separate medications and bi-annual blood work.
"Her ideal furrever home is a caring, low-stress environment where she can bask in the sunlight, take in the occasional cat nap and purr through endless petting," the shelter wrote. "Chloe is wonderful around other cats and children. She’d make a great addition to a loving family."

Uno, a cattle dog/shepherd mix puppy is approximately 10-12 months old with the world’s most wonderful manners, according to the shelter. He was brought in to the Animal Shelter by a Good Samaritan who found him exploring a St. James neighborhood at the beginning of the new year. As a result, the staff named him Uno.
"This sweet puppy can play for hours and never get bored," the shelter said. "Uno is great with children, but would prefer to be the only pet in the house."

Currently, there are a variety of male and female cats & kittens available to adopt or foster.
"If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two," the shelter stated.
All of the felines at the shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board-certified veterinarian.
For those wishing to meet Uno, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in a domestic setting, which includes the shelter's Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs and the Dog Walk trail. Family Pet Meet and Greets and at-home interactions are also welcome and an integral part of the adoption process.
Walk-In Hours at Smithtown Animal Shelter are currently Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sundays are by appointment only.

The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
