Smithtown Educator Named Suffolk Unsung Teacher Of The Year
The Nesaquake Middle School math and ELA teacher said he was "taken aback" to win the regional honor.

ST. JAMES, NY — Ron Parmegiani, a mathematics and ELA teacher at Nesaquake Middle School, was named the Suffolk Region PTA Unsung Teacher of the Year, the Smithtown Central School District announced.
"Mr. Parm," as he is affectionally known, was honored at the 72nd annual Spring Conference & Business Dinner by the Suffolk Region PTA. He was recognized as a teacher who goes above and beyond the regular duties of the classroom to truly make an impact on a school, district and community.
"Honestly, I was so taken aback that I thought it was just a nomination so to find out I won was pretty awesome," Parmegiani said in a news release. "I’ve been fortunate enough to work 29 years in a great district with a lot of great people and great families."
