Smithtown High East Student, Teacher Photography Chosen For 12th Annual National Photography Competition

Congratulations to Sam Cheng and Timothy Needles!

Smithtown High School East student Sam Cheng and Advanced Placement art teacher Timothy Needles both recently had photographs chosen to be included in the 12th annual National Photography Competition.

The competition took place at the Foto Foto Gallery in Huntington.

Out of nearly 600 entries, 29 were chosen for this year's competition from around the U.S.

The show was curated by art director Stephen Mayes, secretary of the World Press Photo Competition and executive director of the Tim Hetherington Trust.

The exhibit will be on display now through Jan. 7.
