Smithtown Middle Schools Host Summer Orientation Programs For Incoming Middle Schoolers
The students, who will begin 6th grade next week, attended orientation at the respective middle schools.
In preparation for the new school year, Smithtown Central School District’s three middle schools recently hosted summer orientation programs to welcome incoming sixth-grade students.
The programs took place on Aug. 29 at Accompsett, Great Hollow and Nesaquake Middle Schools.
Administrators and faculty, and even the Smithown Bull, were there to greet the future Class of 2023 and help ease their transition from elementary school.

The sixth-graders had the opportunity to meet their classmates, new teachers and administrative staff.
After a brief meeting about policies and procedures, the students received their schedules and locker assignments. Student agendas, donated by the PTA, were handed out to help the sixth-graders stay organized and manage their time.

The sixth-graders were then free to tour the building and practice their schedule and lockers.
