Smithtown Police Blotter: 2 iPhones Stolen In Robbery

SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? Check out the recent crimes reported in the area between Aug. 21 and Aug. 27.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

• Aug. 26: Robbery (second-degree) was reported at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove at 10 p.m. Someone displayed what possibly appeared to be a gun at the Smith Haven Mall, stole two iPhones and then left, police said.
• Aug. 24: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Route 25A in Smithtown from Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. Someone went into an office and stole a wallet containing a credit card and driver's license, police said.
• Aug. 24: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Dartmouth Drive in St. James from Nov. 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. Someone used someone else's ID to open a bank credit card and made charges, police said.
