Smithtown Police Blotter: 3 Businesses Burglarized

ALSO: Jewelry was stolen from a home, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Jan. 16: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Hawkins Avenue in Lake Grove at 1:47 a.m. Someone broke the glass door of Mayra’s Bakery, entered the shop, and then stole cash, police said.
  • Jan. 16: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Smithtown Bypass in Nesconset at 1:56 a.m. Someone broke into Dunkin Donuts and stole property, police said.
  • Jan. 12: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Grassy Pond Drive South from Dec. 22 at 8:30 a.m. A thief swiped jewelry from a home, police said.
  • Jan. 10: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Alexander Avenue in St. James from Jan. 9 at 11:25 p.m. Someone broke an IHOP window, entered, and stole cash, police said.
