Smithtown Seventh Graders Embark On Virtual Scavenger Hunt

SMITHTOWN, NY — Ms. Ortiz's seventh-grade social studies class at AccompsettMiddle School recently went on a virtual scavenger hunt around their classroom, the Smithtown Central School District announced in a news release.

Tied to their lessons on the Revolutionary War, the students used their Chromebooks to scan different QR codes throughout the classroom to identify 16 different influential people tied to the Revolutionary War. After reading a short bio on each person, the students filled in an answer key to decipher a secret message.
