Smithtown Students Learn About Life 350 Years Ago
Town historian Brad Harris visits Smithtown Elementary School.

Students in grades 3-5 at Smithtown Elementary School recently recognized the 350th year of Smithtown’s existence by welcoming Smithtown town historian Brad Harris.
Students worked on comparative projects to show what life was like for a child their age 350 years ago. Special area sections integrated this theme through literature, games, art and music projects. Several local events to commemorate Smithtown’s 350 years of existence are being planned by the Smithtown Historical Society, the Town of Smithtown and other local organizations running through the end of the year.
Smithtown students will continue to be active participants in the celebration through future events and projects.
