Teacher Reassigned After Allegations Of Inappropriate Behavior
The high school teacher was accused of "inappropriate behavior with a student," according to the school district.

SMITHTOWN, NY - A Smithtown High School West teacher has been reassigned after being accused of inappropriate behavior with a student, according to a statement from the school.
In the statement, Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Grossane stated that the districts shared the allegations with Suffolk Police who are "looking into the matter."
The teacher has been "reassigned to home," the statement read.

The nature of the allegations have not been released.
"As this is an ongoing police matter, the district has no further comment," Grossane said.

Suffolk Police also stated that they could not comment on ongoing investigations.
