NESCONSET, NY - Tesla is looking to potentially open a new location in Nesconset.
The car company has been looking to open its fourth Long Island location on 1000 Nesconset Highway at the site of the former Sixth Avenue Electronics Store, but has not yet confirmed its plans.

According to a report in Fios1, on Wednesday the Smithtown Planning Board will recommend changing the zoning for the location from “neighborhood business and central business” to “wholesale industry” which would allow for the dealership to open at that location.

Town Planning Director David Flynn told Fios1 that Tesla is looking to put in a showroom and service facility.
In order to open a store, Tesla would have to wait for new legislation to pass since it has already reached its state-mandated cap of five sales facilities within New York, Newsday reports. The new legislation would expand the cap to 15 or 20.
