A look at the best sports games of the year involving Smithtown teams.
Both the Smithtown East and West Bulls participated in numerous important exciting games this year. Whether on the court, the field, or the pitch, Smithtown athletes competed hard this year.
Here are the top 10 games of 2010.
1. – Smithtown East's Jaclyn Interrant scored on a dramatic sudden death penalty kick to win the Suffolk county AA championship against defending Long Island champions West Islip. Interrant's shot broke a 0-0 tie that had lasted throughout regulation and three overtime periods.
2. – East pulled out a huge comeback victory in the semifinals of the Suffolk county playoffs to earn a birth to the county championship. Down two games to none they completed the comeback over Lindenhurst. Senior Tyler Donofrio put forth an inspiring effort, leading the team with 20 kills while playing on an injured ankle.

3. – Senior captain Jesse Lyons scored the only goal in West's 1-0 victory over Ward Melville in the first round of the class AA playoffs. The Bulls went on to drop its quarterfinal match up against Commack.
4. – The Bulls clinched a playoff spot with a 42-14 victory over Division II opponent Half Hollow Hills West at Robert W. Pratt Field.

5. – The second game in a fierce rivalry between the top two teams in league III ended in a 1-1 draw. Chris Dimotsis scored just three minutes into the game for West. The Bulls spent the next 69 minutes in a defensive shell that was eventually broken by Newfield with only eight minutes left in the game.
6. – The early season battle of the Bulls in football produced a confidence building victory for West. Two rushing touchdowns in the first half by West quarterback Kyle Keenan helped build a 21-0 halftime lead. A fourth quarter 20-yard touchdown run by West's Logan Greco squashed any momentum East had built and pushed the score to 28-9.
7. – The first match up between West and Newfield was a tight battle that ended when West's Ryan Schneider scored halfway through overtime to give the Bulls an important early season victory. Schneider's goal was key, as both teams went through the rest of league play without losing a game.
8. – A Friday night cross-town match up between East and West in boys basketball packed out Smithtown East gym. The size of East's front line, specifically Jon Feiler and Dan Thixton, was too much for West to overcome in the 64-53 East victory.
9. – East started its season with a wire-to-wire victory over Hampton Bays 67-53, led by the play of juniors John Feiler and Dan Thixton.
10. – Cross town rivals East and West battled at Smithtown East High School, only for East to come out on top.
