Trio Charged With Robbing Man, Throwing Him Out of Moving Car: Police

The victim accepted a ride home from a Suffolk County bar earlier this month, police say.

Three men have been arrested for robbing a man and then throwing him out of a moving vehicle earlier this month, Suffolk Police said Friday.

According to police, a 27-year-old Ronkonkoma man was at JW's Pub on Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma when three men offered him a ride home around 3:45 a.m. on May 6. During the ride, , the men punched and choked the victim and then stole his jewelry, wallet, cellphone and cash, police said.

Following the robbery, the victim was thrown out of the moving vehicle on Hawkins Avenue in Lake Grove, police said. The victim was treated at Stony Brook University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, the following people were arrested this week:

  • Jason Mikalauskas, 36, of Lake Grove, was arrested on May 23 and charged with second degree robbery, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and an active warrant
  • Michael Masterson, 21, of Centereach, was arrested on May 24 and charged with second degree
  • Dominic Dentici, 23, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested on May 26 and charged with second degree

Mikalauskas and Masterson have already been arraigned. Dentici is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
