VILLAGE OF THE BRANCH, NY - Two firefighters were injured after battling a fire at a Village of the Branch bagel shop on Friday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

The fire broke out at Smithtown Bagels at 1 Miller Place at 6:10 a.m.

There were two minor injuries to volunteer firefighters. One firefighter sustained a minor head injury and another had an ankle injury.

Detectives believe the fire is non-criminal. The investigation is continuing.
