Waste Hauler Cancels Contract, Won't Collect Smithtown Trash
Roughly 20 percent of Town of Smithtown households are affected after Quick-Way Sanitation cancelled its contract on New Years Eve.

TOWN OF SMITHTOWN, NY — Quick-Way Sanitation, the garbage and recycling carter that removed waste from homes in Districts #4 and #7 in the Town of Smithtown, will no longer be serving residents in the area. The company emailed the Town of Smithtown on New Years Eve to notify officials that it was terminating services, effective immediately.
About 20 percent of Smithtown (or 7100 household units) will be impacted by the abrupt notice. District #4 is located in the hamlet of St. James, along the borders of Brookhaven, the Villages of Nissequogue & Head of the Harbor, edging Northern Boulevard and Route 25 (Middle Country Road). District #7 is located in the hamlet of Smithtown, edging along the perimeter of Main Street, from NYS Route 25 to Wyandanch Boulevard, NYS Route 454 to NYS Route 111, circling back to Main Street.

The Town of Smithtown will continue to update residents regarding waste pickup and curbside recycling via the Town Mobile App, Town website and social media. Residents should continue to place solid waste/recycling at the curbside for collection according to the regular schedule. Residents can call 631-360-7514 for assistance with identifying their respective waste carter district.
