Woman Charged With Prostitution After Suffolk County Massage Parlor Raid

The raid occurred Wednesday afternoon in response to numerous community complaints, police say.

NESCONSET, NY – A 42-year-old Queens woman was arrested for prostitution after a massage parlor raid in Nesconset Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.

Lan Zhu, of Fresh Meadows, is charged with prostitution, second degree criminal nuisance and unauthorized practice of a profession.

In response to numerous community complaints, Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, Suffolk County Police Criminal Intelligence Unit officers, agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and officials from the Town of Smithtown conducted an investigation into illegal activities at Evergreen Relaxing Spa located at 195 Smithtown Boulevard at about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Zhu was also cited for numerous fire and building code violations by a Town of Smithtown fire marshal and building inspector.

Zhu will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Thursday.
