2 Teens Stole Guns, Cash, Laptop From Home: Police

BREAKING: The teens waited for the family to leave before stealing the rifle and two shotguns, police said.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — Two teens were arrested after they stole a rifle, two shotguns, $300 in cash and a laptop from an East Quogue home, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, Caleb A. Flanagan, 18, of East Quogue, and another male, 16, also of East Quogue, were arrested after information was provided by the victim, followed by an "aggressive investigation."

The teens waited for the victim to leave with his family and the entered the home, stealing the guns and cash, police said.

Within 24 hours of the crime detectives had both teens in custody and had recovered all three guns, police said.

Both Flanagan and the 16-year-old male were charged with second degree burglary, a felony, arraigned on Monday morning in Southampton Town justice court, police said.

The 16-year-old was remanded to Suffolk County jail in lieu of $31,100 bail, and Flanagan was released after posting $1,000 bail, police said.
