4 Nabbed For Drunk Driving Offenses In 4 Days: Police
New York State Police nabbed four drunk drivers in various corners of Southampton Town, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Four drunk drivers were cuffed in a four day period across Southampton Town recently, police said.
According to New York State Police, those arrested included:
- Eliana Espinoza, 20, of Patchogue was arrested on Sunday at 3:46 a.m. on North Road in Hampton Bays after she was stopped for failing to keep right, police said. Upon interviewing her, the strong odor of alcoholic beverage was found to be emanating from her breath and she was put through standardized field sobriety tests; her performance was indicative of being intoxicated by alcohol, police said. Espinoza was placed under arrest and was charged with driving while intoxicated; she was transported back to New York State Police barracks Riverside where she was processed without incident and was released to a sober third party, police said.

- Selvin Moran Banegas, 36, was arrested on Saturday at 2:25 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Southampton, police said. After an interview and standardized field sobriety tests, he was found to be intoxicated, police said. He was placed under arrest, charged with driving while intoxicated, and was transported to New York State Police barracks Riverside, where he provided a breath sample of .14 percent BAC; he is due back in Southampton Justice Court on July 5, police said.
- On Friday at 1:43 p.m., New York State Police, with the assistance of Southampton Town Police, were conducting a warrant investigation; the subject of the active warrant was driven to New York State Police barracks Riverside by Frederick J. Griffin Jr., 20, of Riverhead, police said.

When Frederick Griffin Jr. began speaking with the New York State Police, the strong odor of alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath and during the interview he stated he had been drinking the night before, police said.
Frederick Griffin Jr. was put through standardized field sobriety tests and his performance indicated that he was intoxicated, police said. Frederick Griffin Jr. was placed under arrest and provided a breath sample of .09 percent BAC, police said. Frederick Griffin Jr. was processed without incident and was released to a sober third party; he is due back in Southampton Town Justice Court on July 3, police said.
- A woman, 24, of Shirley, was arrested on Thursday at 5:04 p.m. after she was stopped on Dune Road in Westhampton Beach for having illegally tinted windows, police said.
Subsequent to an interview on the side of the road, she admitted that she had been drinking; her performance during standardized field sobriety tests indicated that she was intoxicated, police said.
She was placed under arrest; she was transported back to New York State Police Barracks Riverside where she provided a breath sample of .07 percent BAC and was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.
She was released to a sober third party and issued an appearance ticket, police said.
