SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Fourth of July activities in Southampton could have extra sparkle in 2026, the 250th anniversary, or semiquincentennial, of the Declaration of Independence.
The holiday falls on a Saturday in the middle of a three-day weekend, July 3 to July 5. To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to fireworks and other celebrations in Southampton and the surrounding areas in the weeks to come.
SOUTH FORK
What: North Sea Fire Department Carnival
Where: Firemen's Field, 27 Straight Path, Southampton
When: The popular North Sea Fire Department Carnival is back this year from June 30 to July 4, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the North Sea Fire Department, 27 Straight Path in Southampton. Rides, food and games for the whole family.
Fireworks on Thursday, July 2 and Saturday, July 4.
What: Sag Harbor Yacht Club's John A. Ward Fireworks
Where: Marine Park, Sag Harbor
When: Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m.
Watch the Sag Harbor Yacht Club's John A. Ward Fireworks from Marine Park. Watch the fireworks from your boat, deck, car, or beach. Tune into WLNG 92.1 FM and enjoy the music to the fireworks provided by Grucci.
What: Southampton Village Independence Day Parade
When: 10 a.m. on July 4
Southampton Village presents a July 4 Parade celebrating America's 250th. Organized by the Village of Southampton Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events,the route begins at Railroad Plaza, down North Main Street to Main Street and Jobs Lane. The parade ends at the review stand by Monument Square at Agawam Park.
What: Westhampton Country Club Fireworks
Where: Westhampton Country Club
When: Saturday July 4 at 9 p..m.
This is a private event held at the Westhampton Country Club on Potunk Lane, but the whole community enjoys the spectacular display of Grucci dazzlers each year, lining up on the streets to watch.
What:East Hampton Fire Department Fireworks
Where: Main Beach
When: The East Hampton Fire Department will be hosting its annual Main Beach fireworks show on July 4. The show will start at dark.
What: Devon Yacht Club Fireworks
Where: The Amagansett event is private but you can watch from Fresh Pond Beach
When: Friday, July 3 at 9:15 p.m.
What: Clamshell Foundation's Fireworks Over Three Mile Harbor
Where: 3 Mile Harbor, East Hampton

What: Stars Over Montauk Fireworks

RIVERHEAD
What: Jamesport Fire Department Bazaar
Where: Community Center Grounds.
When: July 14 to 18. Parade: Wednesday, July 15 and Fireworks, Saturday, July 18.
The beloved event is back, Tuesday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The event also includes POP rides, games, food, and refreshments, including "world famous" sausage and peppers.
What: Riverhead July 4 Parade, Fireworks
Where: Parade takes place in Downtown Riverhead; fireworks take place at S. Jamesport Beach once dark.
When: July 4, parade at 11 a.m.; fireworks on July 4 night at S. Jamesport Beach.
The Town of Riverhead is hosting a Grand Float Parade on July 4, 2026, at 11 a.m. Starting on Railroad Avenue and traveling through Downtown Riverhead, showcasing groups and organizations from the Riverhead community with floats decorated in patriotic theme or paying homage to Riverhead’s rich agricultural heritage. NORTH FORK
What: Greenport Fire Department's Relief Hose and Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. Annual Carnival
Where: The Polo Grounds at Moores Lane
When: The annual Greenport Fire Department's Relief Hose and Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. Annual Carnival takes place from June 30 until July 4 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fireworks are on July 2 and July 4 at 10 p.m.
What: Orient Harbor Fireworks
When: Friday, July 10 at 9:15 p.m. (Original date postponed due to rain)
"This July 4th Celebration is entirely funded by private donations. We need everyone's help to make it happen! Please donate and come down to Orient Harbor Saturday, June 27 to enjoy what will be another great show by Fireworks by Grucci," organizers said.

What: United States of America's 250th Birthday Celebration Parade in Southold
Where: Main Road, Southold
When: July 4 at noon
The Southold Village Merchants and the Southold American Legion-Griswold Terry Post 803 present the "United States Of America's 250th Birthday Celebration Parade."

The parade will run from Boisseau Avenue along Main Road to the American Legion. All non-profit organizations, kids on bicycles, bands, and anyone who wants to build a float are welcome to join in.

Celebrations around the country recall not only the events leading up to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, but also look forward and aim to make the 4th of July weekend a massive, multigenerational cultural moment focused on community connections and charitable giving.
America’s Block Party, an unprecedented coast-to-coast initiative, is one of the signature events of America 250, the congressionally chartered nonprofit overseeing the semiquincentennial celebration.
A Times Square Ball Drop, a rolling series of ball drops, timed to occur at midnight on July 3 in every U.S. time zone from Guam to American Samoa, is part of the “Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show,” creating a nearly 24-hour celebration of the 250th anniversary. It’s part of the broader “Giving 4th” initiative that aims to make and establish Independence Day the biggest annual day of giving.
A time capsule will be buried in Philadelphia to be opened in 2276 on July 4. It contains a carefully curated collection of letters and artifacts reflecting the leadership, institutions, and communities that shape the country today. It will include contributions from all three branches of the U.S. federal government and submissions from each of the 50 states, Washington D.C., and five territories.
Separately, the White House’s Freedom 250’s biggest spectacles are the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, running June 25 to July 10; the July 4 Salute to America Fireworks, also on the National Mall; “Sail 4th 250,” billed as the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships from around the world in New York Harbor; and Rushmore 250, an iconic 4th of July fireworks on July 3 alongside military concerts and live presidential reenactors.
