The Elegant Setting (27 West Main Street, Southampton, NY, 11968, 631-283-4747, www.theelegantsetting.com) has announced the opening of their new location just behind the former Main Street location in Southampton on Thursday, March 3rd. The bungalow style space, which formerly was home to The Studio for several years, is situated just off Main Street in Southampton Village down a brick path adjacent to the former location. The renovated, approximately 400 square foot space, will feature the ‘Best of the Best’ of The Elegant Setting. Owner Stephanie Finkelstein decided to relocate from her larger Main Street location to a smaller space and concentrate on the essence of the business with gift items, paper goods, candles, frames, kids items and her custom embroidered and monogrammed items. The new space features a loft, which will be the new home for the monogramming and embroidery department.
“I launched my business with a focus on tabletop items such as china and crystal but over the years have become more excited about creating custom items and focusing on unique gifts,” states Finkelstein. The Elegant Setting was founded in September 2002, as a by-appointment showroom and consulting service in New York City. In April 2004, it opened as a retail store on Southampton's Main Street, in the heart of Southampton village. The 1000 square foot tabletop shop offered an exquisite collection of vintage pieces that Stephanie acquired from tirelessly trolling through flea markets and auctions around the country as well as high-end brands of china and crystal such as Hermes, William Yeoward, Baccarat and Simon Pearce. As the business progressed, the focus shifted from tabletop to unique and personalized gifts. This shift has now led to the smaller retail space featuring the ‘Best of the Best’ selection of items.
“I am very excited about the new location. I think it is a great stage for my products, as the space has a very cozy and warm atmosphere. I am confident that my clients and shoppers will love the new space as much as we do!” Finkelstein concludes.
