Memorial Day 'Thank You'

This Memorial Day 2012, it is with great honor that I think of those who were killed, contribute and put their lives on the line, just so I, as so many others, may live in the eyes of American freedom.

All too often the details, tragedies and heroism are not given their proper due for some reason or another. We as a nation know one or another very close to us who has given service to this country. Some of us know a service person who has given their all and made the ultimate sacrifice.

On Monday, May 28, 2012, the government and people across America pay tribute to those who served our country. Whether it be this day, or any other day coming, I will practice the grace of saying a simple "Thank You" to those that I meet who have served in our military. There is such a powerful sincerity of  the words "Thank You" that let others know you actually care.

"Thank You" is one of the first graces that every parent in the whole world teaches their child. It is humility, it is character, it is the one thing that never goes out of style as it is something that brings two things together. I think the world would be a better place naturally if we all learned to say "Thank You" just a little more in our lives today...
