Man Drowns in Southampton Pond

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, police say.

A Brooklyn man drowned in a Southampton pond on Wednesday afternoon, according to Southampton Town Police.

Peter Corticchia, 62, was clamming with his wife at Far Pond when he became ”stressed”, police said.

His wife ran to get help and a good Samaritan ran in and attempted to revive him, police said.

Police received the call at about 3:30 p.m. and responded as well as local bay constables.

Corticchia did not know how to swim, according to a 27east.com report.
