Jazz at Rogers: The Heart of America

Join East End Jazz and the Southampton History Museum for a special evening of music honoring America's 250th anniversary. On Thursday, September 3, experience The Heart of America: Songs of Our Roots, an inspiring concert that explores the sounds that have shaped the American experience for generations.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Rogers Mansion grounds, this unique performance journeys through the rich traditions of Blues, Gospel, Hymns, and Country music, the musical foundations that continue to influence American culture today. Through imaginative jazz arrangements, these timeless songs are reimagined with fresh energy while preserving the stories and spirit that have resonated across generations.

The evening features a powerhouse quartet lineup of New York’s and the Hamptons' finest jazz musicians: Lauren Lee on vocals, Tomas Majcherski on Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute; Taka Otomo on Piano; Iris Ornig on Bass & Arrangements; and Brian Woodruff on Drums. Together, they will perform jazz-infused interpretations of beloved American classics including Oh, Susanna, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, When Johnny Comes Marching Home, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, Michael, Row the Boat Ashore, and more.
