Community Joins To Celebrate Muslim 'Iftar' Feast After Ramadan
All faiths joined together in love and acceptance at the meal, held to spread understanding about the Muslim faith and Ramadan traditions.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY - In a world torn asunder by terrorism and hatred, the Southampton community chose peace this week.
The community gathered for an Iftar, a breaking of the fast for Ramadan.
In the Islam faith, Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection and prayer, after which a meal is held.

Hosted by The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the South Fork in Bridgehampton, Temple Adas Israel and Christ Episcopal Church, the aim was to invite members of the Muslim community and neighbors to join together for a breaking of the fast and to afford the opportunity to learn a bit about Ramadan traditions.
