Cord Tied Around Tree Seriously Injures Young ATV Rider
Someone is tying hunter green parachute cords across Long Island trails to deter dirt bikes and ATV riders, police say.

SAG HARBOR, NY — A cord tied around a tree to deter dirt bike and ATV riders seriously injured a young person in Sag Harbor, police said.
On August 7 at 6:15 p.m., a juvenile rider was seriously injured when a parachute cord caught him by his neck and threw him from his ATV, police said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Southampton Town Police Department's detective division are asking for the public’s help to find the person or people who sabotaged the trail and others in Sag Harbor.

Someone has been tying hunter green parachute cords across the trails; the cords are difficult to see and can cause serious injuries, police said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
