Driver Charged With DWI Had BAC More Than 3X Legal Limit: Cops

He's facing a felony DWI charge after driving with a BAC of .31%, police say.

FLANDERS, NY — A Flanders man was caught driving with a blood alcohol concentration of more than three times the legal limit on July 4, police said.

According to New York State Police, Raul Pineda, 39, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. on Flanders Road after being stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation. Upon further investigation Pineda was found to be intoxicated with a BAC of .31%; the legal limit is .08%, police said.

Pineda was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and was held for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
