Driver and Passenger Busted on Drug Charges: Police

The pair was cuffed in Southampton after a traffic stop, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - A Quogue man was arrested for driving while on drugs in Southampton, police said.

According to New York State Police, Joshua Bernal, 35, was arrested on June 6 on County Road 104 in Southampton and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after being stopped for moving from lane unsafely.

The front seat passenger, Andrea Scagel, 34, was also arrested and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Both were issued appearance tickets to return to Southampton Justice Court on July 6, police said.
