Graphic Texts Show Execution Style Murder In Scary New Phone Scam

Calls and texts to individuals contain graphic texts depicting murder and threats, if money is not sent, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Police are warning the public about a terrifying new phone scam.

According to Southampton Town Police, a new scam involves "Latino callers" who are texting or calling people, stating that they know where the individuals work or live and implying a threat of harm if the person does not comply with demands of money to the caller.

"There have been several calls and texts using the same graphic photo or similar graphic photos depicting an execution style murder," police said.

Southampton Town Police are warning the community of the scam and said individuals should avoid sending any money to the callers.

Anyone who does receive those types of calls or texts should contact their local police.
