Man Charged With DWI After Leaving Scene Of Hamptons Crash: PD
The crash took place Saturday, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Smithtown man was arrested after he drove while intoxicated and left the scene of a crash in Southampton Saturday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, Keith DiBartolomeo, 49, was arrested after a traffic stop around Wiltshire Road at 11:03 p.m. and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving while intoxicated, police said.
Southampton Town Police said they received a report of a "reckless driver" heading west on County Road 39; patrol officers responded and saw one vehicle closely following another, police said.

During the traffic stop, officers learned there had been a crash involving both drivers in the vicinity of County Road 39 and David Whites Lane; DiBartolomeo left the scene of the crash, police said.
DiBartolomeo was transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
