Marijuana Growing Operation Found At East Quogue Home: Police

Marijuana plants were found behind the garage, with cannabis also hanging in a cargo shed, police say.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — A marijuana growing operation was uncovered at an East Quogue home, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, on Sunday at 5:20 p.m., members of the police department's community response unit responded to a Central Avenue home after receiving complaints of a possible marijuana growing operation.

Officers questioned resident Robert Kuroski, 50, who consented to a search of the property which revealed a large amount of marijuana plants to the rear of the property behind the garage, police said.

In addition, a large amount of marijuana was found hanging within a cargo shed located along the garage, police said.

Marijuana was also found in multiple glass and plastic containers in the garage; an unspecified number of marijuana plants were seized, police said.

Kuroski was arrested and charged with second degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor, police said.

Kuroski was transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters and held overnight; he was then taken to Southampton Justice Court to be arraigned on Monday, where he posted $1,000 bail, police said.

He is due back in court at a future date, police said.
