Memorial Planned For Local Man Who Touched Hearts

Alec Buccola was a familiar face at the Amagansett IGA; a memorial will be held on Sept. 8 to honor his life.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Hearts were heavy on the East End as news spread that a beloved local man had lost his battle.

A GoFundMe, "Medical Fund For Alec Buccola," had been set up by Erin Sorensen to help her uncle Alexander "Alec" Buccola who was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer. The funds were to help him with medical transportation from Stony Brook University Hospital to his brother's home in Virginia, where he received hospice care.

Buccola was a familiar, friendly face at the Amagansett IGA.
