Minor Damage as Truck Rolls Into Barristers Restaurant
Back of Southampton Village restaurant struck, with no injuries.

A driver of a pick-up truck forgot to put the vehicle in park and it rolled into the back of Barristers Restaurant Thursday afternoon, though the damage was minor, according to authorities.
A flower pot was destroyed as the vehicle rolled forward and tapped the building at the rear door. The right corner of the silver Toyota Tundra's front bumper was damaged.
Southampton Fire Department volunteers and a village building inspector and village fire marshal were on scene, though the damage did not concern officials. The accident was reported at 2:43 p.m.
Inside the restaurant and under the porch dining area, business went on as usual.
Fire Chief Dennis Roy said the driver, a local caretaker, had gotten out of the vehicle thinking it was in park, then jumped back in when it started to roll.
Jessica Kiesman, the Barristers dining room manager, said, fortunately, no one was injured and the damage was negligible. "All's well that ends well."
