Pair Found 'Passed Out' In Car On Road; Man Charged With DWI: PD

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Two people were found "passed out" or asleep in their car while partially parked on Country Road 39 in Southampton Sunday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, at 5:04 a.m. a 911 call came in about a vehicle in the roadway outside a business, with the two inside. An officer arrived and found the car still partially parked in the roadway, police said.

Luis Idrovo, 22, of East Hampton, was seen exiting the driver's seat; he was found to be intoxicated, police said. He was arrested, charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated as well as with vehicle and traffic law violations, taken to police headquarters, processed, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
