Police ID Skateboarder Who Died After Being Struck On LI
He died on Friday night, police say.
SAG HARBOR, NY — Police have identified the skateboarder who died after being struck in Sag Harbor Friday as Charles Robbins Reid III, 54, of Geneva, Florida.
According to Southampton Town police, at 5:55 p.m., Stephen Breitenbach, 77, was driving a 2018 Land Rover west on Middle Lane Highway near Fourteen Hills Court when he collided with Reid, who was in the roadway.
Reid was taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital by Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Southampton Town detectives responded to the scene of the fatal crash to investigate; criminality is not suspected, police said.
The Land Rover was impounded for a safety check.
