Police: Two Sag Harbor Men Arrested on Drug Charges in East Hampton
The arrests were made on Sunday evening.

Two Sag Harbor men were arrested on drug charges in East Hampton on Sunday evening, according to East Hampton Village Police.
An officer pulled over a car driving eastbound on Montauk Highway near Daniels Hole Road for having an expired New York State Safety Certificate displayed on the windshield, police said.
After stopping the car and speaking with both the driver, Wayne Hopson, 28, and the passenger, Murray Harris, 58, the officer noticed a smell of marijuana coming from inside the car, according to police.

Hopson told the officer that both men had smoked marijuana a couple of hours before and produced a ’marijuana cigarette’ from his coat pocket, police said.
The officer searched Harris and found that he had clear zip lock sandwich bag with two pills that he admitted they were his and that he did not have a prescription for, according to police.

Both men were transported to headquarters for processing.
Both men were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and Hopson was also charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and uninspected motor vehicle, according to police.
