Southampton Police Seek Help To Find Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run
A 33-year-old pedestrian died after the crash Thursday, police say. Police are looking for a box-style gray Jeep with front-end damage.

RIVERSIDE, NY — Police are asking for the public's help to find the Jeep involved in a fatal Riverside hit-and-run Thursday night.
According to Southampton Town Police, the crash took place at 6:28 p.m. on Flanders Road and Old Quogue Road. The driver of a gray, box-style Jeep Cherokee, similar in style to the examples provided by police, fled the scene, police said. Police say they are looking for that style of Jeep, which would have sustained front-end damage.
The pedestrian, David Humberto-Amaya, who was homeless, was treated by Southampton Town Police patrol officers until the Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded; he was flown by Suffolk County aviation to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he later died, authorities said.
