Tuckahoe, Southampton Schools Reach Agreement on Tuition Deal
The Tuckahoe School Board voted to approve the deal 2 to 1.

The Tuckahoe Board of Education and the Southampton School District have reached an one-year agreement with the Southampton School District to educate all 145 Tuckahoe High School students until 2016, according to a report in 27east.
The Tuckahoe School Board voted to approved the deal 2 to 1. In the agreement, the tuition rates for the majority of students will be a total of $23,009 and the tuition rates for students requiring special education services will be a total of $66,632, according to the report.
The original deal, proposed by the Southampton School Board, was a five-year agreement increasing based on Southampton’s budget changes, was declined by the Tuckahoe School Board who claimed it was ‘unfeasable and unpredictable’, according to the report. In this agreement, the first year rates were adopted for a one-year pact.
