Underage Teens Drinking At Loud Party, Woman Charged: Cops

"Please make sure that there is no empty chair at prom or graduation due to a tragedy," police said after the woman was charged.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — An East Quogue woman was charged with violating Suffolk County's social host law after underage teens were found drinking at a loud party Saturday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, officers responded to a complaint regarding the party at and East Quogue home and witnessed several underage teens drinking alcoholic beverages at the residence.

After speaking with the homeowner regarding the party, officers arrested Courtney Hall-Cumisky, 54, and charged her with a violation of Suffolk County's social host law, a misdemeanor; she was issued an appearance ticket to appear at Southampton Town Justice Court at a later date, police said.

Southampton Town Police "would like to remind adults that it is dangerous and irresponsible to allow underage drinking to occur at your home. With prom season and graduation season fast approaching, it is important to remember that our teens can get in a car after drinking, putting themselves and the community at great risk. Please make sure that there is no empty chair at prom or graduation due to a tragedy," police said.
