His program will consist of cross training in which he will learn the skills and gain the confidence to become a member of the K9 police force as well as train in narcotics detection and tracking.
The total cost of the program is $6,000, but the shelter found a sponsor who will match every dollar raised up to $3,000.
The money has to be raised by Sunday in order for Cowboy to start the program.
Since the page was created on Thursday, a total of $2,700 has been raised.
